Social bike rides every Friday in June

It’s spring, and almost summer in Kansas, and the sunny days and warmer temperatures make for great bicycling weather. Join the Bike Topeka crew as we embark on a themed social bike ride every Friday in June. In cooperation with Savor Kansas, Bike Topeka is celebrating the Kansas Sesquicentennial.

This Friday, June 3, is the First Friday Art Walk in Topeka – and we’ve planned a First Friday Art “Walk” bike ride. See who’s attending on Facebook – and keep track of Bike Topeka on Facebook for info about future events.

If you’d like to join, ride over to 10th St. & Topeka Blvd to meet other folks in the state parking lot at the Southeast corner of the intersection. We usually meet up at 6pm, and get going shortly after – we try to decide a route after everyone arrives!

One World, Many Stories

Jim Richardson lives in Lindsborg, Kansas, where he owns the Small World Gallery. his photographs include images from his travels in Scotland, Ireland, Italy, England, Africa, and Asia. People everywhere living their lives, celebrating festivals, dancing, singing, traveling, playing. It’s a fun opportunity to think about what we do, here, in Kansas. We do many of the same things, sometimes in different ways. Everyone has a story! The exhibit runs June 3 – August 12, 2011. Join us for First Friday Artwalks, a journey around the world, and – if he’s not on assignment somewhere – Jim Richardson’s artist’s talk on July 3, 3 – 4:30 pm, at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library!
